Once upon a time in the Lyon region, there lived a bold and visionary young man named Carlito. From a very young age, he nurtured a fascination for undertaking and creating new things.
Carlito dreamed of finding his path and this keen interest drove him to undertake many projects without any real outcome.
2018 – the awakening of a passion
Determined to find his path, young Carlito leaves his comfort zone and decides to venture into the unknown. Providence then shows him the way to the Lyon Tobacco Factory, where he begins a law degree which he does not complete, as he no longer feels at home there.
During his time at university, he met a young man wearing a mysterious fragrance that immediately piqued his curiosity and sparked an indescribable desire to possess an equally rare and intriguing scent. Thus began a vast quest through the far reaches of the Lyon region, to uncover the jealously guarded secrets of the rarest and most precious fragrances.
In his quest, Carlito meets the man he still considers his mentor, who reveals to him some of the mysteries of scents and awakens in him passion, love and a desire for a deep understanding of olfactory notes.
November 2018 – The birth of LA PARFUMERIE DE CARLITO
Armed with this new knowledge, our young protagonist's journey is very different; he seems to have found his path and no longer seeks to possess a rare and intriguing scent. He has only one desire: to share his passion with the whole world, offering everyone the opportunity to obtain a surprising fragrance.
Carlito's journey continues as he searches for extraordinary fragrances to add to his olfactory catalog. Exploring the unknown, he meets inspiring and creative people: perfume sellers, master perfumers, designers, chemists, and entrepreneurs. Each new encounter becomes a piece of the puzzle in his creative process, like a unique fragrance note waiting to be harmoniously assembled.
It was following this adventure that the first sketch of our project was born on social media, I named “Les Parfums de Carlito”, which with time and experience later became LA PARFUMERIE DE CARLITO.
2019 – Not everything goes as planned
But the story of our perfumery doesn't end there. The beginnings on social media are encouraging and the enthusiasm surrounding LA PARFUMERIE DE CARLITO is quickly felt, but every adventure has its share of trials and difficulties.
And so our perfumery went through tumultuous periods in which it faced strong competition and measures put in place against Covid-19.
At this time, everything seems to slow down and the initial enthusiasm has cooled; our young protagonist faces a problem he has never encountered before, and his once so promising young perfumery seems to be withering away.
2020-2022 - After the rain comes the sunshine
But his passion and love for perfume keep his project alive, and the journey he's already undertaken prevents him from giving up. It's then that memories of his many encounters resurface in Carlito's mind, and he realizes that throughout his search for the rare and exceptional scent, he hasn't found anyone truly capable of understanding his deepest needs and guiding him step by step toward his signature fragrance.
Thanks to this revelation, he decided to give his project a completely different dimension. Carlito's Perfumery, which had seemed buried forever, rose from the ashes like a phoenix. Back, more determined than ever, Carlito was ready to put in place the means to make his vision a reality. He then selected scents in which creativity and uniqueness were captured in every drop.
His goal is no longer just to share his passion with the whole world by offering them surprising fragrances, no, now he wants to offer everyone the chance to be accompanied in order to obtain a perfume that: tells their stories, evokes memories, identifies those who wear them as a distinctive sign in relation to other people who smell them.
2023 – On the Road to the World
Following this long journey rich in encounters and lessons, Carlito's vision and the boundaries of his perfumery are much broader than he hoped, and it is now towards the world that he turns with the development of his first online store.
